Our Community of Faith

Fotolia image - group studying the BibleAt Trinity, we enjoy a human network of support, encouragement and direction as we seek to follow Christ.

This is Koinonia, a Greek word that expresses the love we share together in Christ (Acts 2:42-47). God is best able to form disciples inside community.

Together. And not by ourselves. The fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) discovered in the presence of love. They are honed in community.

None of us are perfect. We are sinners saved by God’s grace (Ephesians 1:7-8) Within this community, we are encouraging one another to be more giving, more forgiving, and more loving to all around us.
Together, we are praying, praising, preparing, and practicing God’s love.

Intentional Faith Development

One of the ways we become in tune with God's purpose for our lives in through Intentional Faith Development. There are many ways to do this.

  • Christian education (including Sunday School  - regular small group study once a week. We have classes for about every age group.
  • Small home groups - meeting during the week, these groups study a particular book of the Bible or perhaps a faith discipline
  • Youth groups - Weekly gatherings, Youth Praise Team, Retreats, Summer Mission Trip and more.
  • Church-wide workshops - corporate study of a common curriculum that involves the entire membership
  • Prayer groups - Many ways to develop an active prayer and meditative life
  • Circles - these are groups where long-term relationships form around faith building and develop into avenues of community service
  • Beakfasts, banquets, and dinners - Jolly events, like a recent chili cook-off, help us strengthen the "tie that binds" -- although they can have a detrimental effect on our waistbands ;-) .
  • Many other events and groups that help us share our faith in love with those around us.

Community Opportunities

Youth and adults handing holds standing on a hill Christian Education groups meet every Sunday at 10am and throughout the week. Classes involve ages from adults to nursery.

Members and visitors are invited to explore classes as new topics end and begin. Plan to attend the one that interests you.

The Kyle Class meets in the room by the office, sends this offer: For the next several months in the 10am hour, we are studying the bedrock claims of Christianity using a book called Devotional Classics. Great minds, such as C.S. Lewis, St. Augustine, Soren Kierkegaard, Francis of Assisi, John Wesley, and others, give a defense of Scripture in a way that will enocourage you to re-examine your own beliefs. We will read their texts and then discuss the relevancy to our own faith.

The Gill Class meets in the room by the social hall. They are using the Adult Bible Studies which discusses books of the Old and New Testaments. Presently, the topics are from Joshua, Judges, Ezra, Nehemiah, Mark, and First and Second Peter.

The Discovery Class meets on the main floor by the prayer room. The book, Christianity's Family Tree by Adam Hamilton is the curent study surveying various Chrisian demonomications.

The PathFinders Class meets on the main floor across from the SS office. They are using a book on Critical Decisions. This includes using scripture as a base for decision making as well as other helpful insights.

The Live and Learn Class meets in the social hall. The book Too Busy Not to Pray is their topic at this time.

We now have three classes for children, one for middle schoolers, and one for senior highs. The middle school class meets at the end of the hall on the main floor and the Senior High class meets in the youth room downstairs. The children are studying Joseph, Moses, and how God forms a people.

The Lost and Found group (20 somethings age group) meets Monday nights in rotating homes.

Trinity Youth (grades rising 6th through senior high) meets Sunday night at the church (in the Youth Room) and for special events. Contact Ansley Higginbotham for more information.

We have a lot going on. Interest in classes is growing. Share the excitement.
